Reflection

I have found lately that my motivation had gone down after school started. I push everything till the last minute because i am lazy and don't want to do work. In the beginning i did all my work and on time but now, I changed. I realized that now I have to do something about this lack of motivation. Normally in high school, I let it slide but now I have a responsibility to myself to finish my work. There isn’t going to be a teacher pestering me to do my homework, I am going to have to be that person to get myself to do something. The eustress i have and use it to my advantage to be productive.

I know that doing this will be hard, but I can do this. I shouldn’t get lazy now I have just begun. My future won’t be bright if I don’t do what is necessary now. I need to stop fooling around and do productive things that will help me in my career and that includes doing tedious school work.

I am planning on doing my work every day now. I will set up specific time schedules for homework and make sure I study for every test. I programed a schedule to my phone, email and posted it up on my wall. I recently bought a weekly and monthly calendar to help me keep track of my progress. I also will remind myself of my future goals by looking at all my college papers frequently. In doing these things, I will increase the happenstance of achieve me goals with more motivation and plenty of gusto.

Reflection- What I Accomplished.

To be honest all last week was a failure. I planned to do so many things like homework and hanging out with friends, yet I accomplished none of these. I did do some of my homework but I was really unmotivated. The last project I did for reading could have been better. I did not do the essay and it was a huge part of my content area project. I always make time for my friends but, it seems that this time I had so many excuses, like homework or traffic. I organize my life and clean my room but I find it hard to keep up in everything. The stress has been making me sick so that adds to another reason why I could not finish anything; I kept falling asleep. I did not study last week because I was asleep the whole time.

Next week, I am planning on stopping the excuses and doing my work right. I am feeling better so I am confident that I will succeed. I have two tests next week and I’m going to study for sure this time. This time I will pay attention to the alerts I get on my phone, instead of ignoring them. I will also make sure I have enough sleep at night. I find myself yawning uncontrollably and I need to have proper rest. I need to focus more and stay motivated. For some reason, I have been lacking in motivation and that needs to stop right now. I need to make a change and that change is starting right now.

Vocabulary #2

Mundane (Adjective)

Sentence Source:

Vietnam was full of strange stories, some improbable, some well beyond that, but the stories that last forever are those that swirl back and forth across the border between trivia and bedlam, the mad and the mundane.

Context Clue Explanation:

I found the meaning of the word mundane by examining its antonym mad.

Original Sentence:

The factory worker's mundane routine is the cause of  his current state of unhappiness.

Intrigued (verb)

Sentence Source:

The war intrigued her. The land, too, and the mystery.

Context Clue Explanation:

I used my logic skills to analyze the sentences above. In doing so I found that the word mystery peeks the interest of most. So i figured the word intrigued probably meant to be interested or curious.

Original Sentence:

I find human behavior intriguing, it's also something that I would like to study and learn more about.

Digressions (noun)

Sentence Source:

"All these digressions, they just screw up your story's sound. Stick to what really happened."

Context Clue Explanation:

I noticed that the sentence "stick to what really happened" is an example of what a person would say if someone kept deviating from a story. I took that clue and used my logic to find the meaning of the word digressions.

Original Sentence:

It's annoying when a person digresses; in the middle of telling an interesting story.
